Since 2005

We make free hosting a real product.

Most "free" hosts are loss leaders. Byet is a 20-year-old engineering operation with our own datacenter, our own software stack, and a stubborn belief that hosting should be accessible to anyone, anywhere, regardless of budget.

The story

Two decades. One mission.

We started in 2005 as a small UK hosting outfit experimenting with shared servers. By 2008 we'd built our own control panel, VistaPanel — because cPanel licensing made truly free hosting impossible.

Today, our infrastructure spans hundreds of 56-core Xeon Platinum machines, multi-homed BGP transit, and clustered MySQL pools — all designed so that the free tier runs on the same metal as the paid tier.

We're proudly bootstrapped. No VC, no exit, no enshittification. Just engineers building hosting that works.

What we believe

Three principles, since day one.

Free should mean free

No expiration timer disguised as a "trial." No ads we slap on your site. No upgrade-or-die emails. Free is a permanent product, not a funnel.

Own the stack

Our datacenter, our network, our control panel. Vertical integration is what lets us offer enterprise hardware to free users without bleeding cash.

Help the underdogs

Students, indie hackers, NGOs, kids in their bedrooms learning HTML — they're who we built this for. They're who we keep building for.
